Luuk Hendriks of the Mergers & Acquisitions team at Boels Zanders has advised LIOF on its investment in Brightlands Ventures Participation Fund IV (BVP Fund IV). The fund’s first closing consisted of EUR 45 million and took place on 14 April 2021.
BVP Fund IV is a successor fund of Chemelot Ventures, founded in 2014, and is managed by Brightlands Venture Partners. It focuses on innovations in the field of sustainability and health. The cornerstone investors of the fund are, besides LIOF, DSM Nederland, Limburg Province and Rabo Corporate Investments. In addition, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has committed EUR 10 million to the fund for investments in sustainable chemistry.
LIOF is the regional development fund for the province of Limburg and supports innovative entrepreneurs with advice, network and financing.
