Jeffrey van Nuland is a member of the company law specialisation and works within the corporate advisory, insolvency & restructuring and Brightlands teams. Within the company law specialisation, his main focus is on corporate law. He advises on the structure and governance of companies, as well as on disputes within companies. Jeffrey also focuses on (directors) liability in corporate law.
Within the bankruptcy practice he supports and advises trustees in the settlement of bankruptcies. In the context of restructurings, he advises on the Dutch Court Approval of a Private Composition (Prevention of Insolvency) Act (WHOA) and, for example, on company closures. Jeffrey is a member of the Association of Young Insolvency Law Practitioners (JIRA).
Jeffrey has been working as a lawyer at Boels Zanders since 2017.
In addition to his practice, Jeffrey also has an academic background. On 21 September 2020, Jeffrey received a doctorate from Maastricht University for his dissertation entitled: “Aansprakelijkheid voor beleidsbepaling: een drieluik over de feitelijke beheersing van vennootschappen.” (“Liability for policy determination: a triptych on the de facto control of corporations.”) He did his PhD research at the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies (ICGI) at Maastricht University. Jeffrey publishes regularly in professional journals.
