Lodewijk specialises in insolvency & restructuring. He is an experienced adviser and litigator in this field.
As a trustee, he has been involved in various bankruptcies. He also advises companies going through difficult times, e.g. in the case of a bankruptcy, suspension of payments and/or negotiating a composition with creditors. Lodewijk is therefore familiar with both sides of the ‘bankruptcy coin’.
In addition, Lodewijk is active as a legal researcher. In this capacity, he conducts various types of fact-finding investigations in the legal arena. These include fraud and integrity investigations, but also investigations for trustees or investigations ordered by the Enterprise Chamber. Lodewijk heads the Corporate Investigations team.
Lodewijk was admitted to the bar in 2009, when he joined Boels Zanders and successfully completed a dual master in Enterprise and Law. He has also successfully completed the following post-doctoral specialisation courses: the CPO course in Insolvency Law for Trustees (2013 - cum laude), the Grotius Specialisation Course in Insolvency Law (2015) and Financial Economics for Trustees. Lodewijk will follow the Financial Forensic Expert programme at Erasmus University in 2022.
Lodewijk is a member of INSOLAD, the Dutch Professional Association for Insolvency Lawyers. He was also a member of the INSOLAD Working Group on Best Practices that rewrote the practice rules for trustees.
