Michiel pursues a broad practice in business law. He advises companies, investment funds, municipalities, housing corporations, and care and educational institutions on issues like financing and securities, insolvency law, governance and company law.
Michiel also regularly helps companies in difficulty. He oversees restructuring, relaunch, and extrajudicial reorganisation procedures. He also assists clients with financing transactions, cancellation of credit, and foreclosing on security. Michiel litigates extensively on matters in a range of areas of law, including directors’ liability, actio pauliana, tort, and financing and security, on both sides of bankruptcy cases.
Michiel works regularly as a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee. This knowledge and experience makes him an ideal partner for approaching the other side.
Michiel has been working as an attorney for Boels Zanders since 2007. He has a master in Private Law from Maastricht University, where he studied Dutch Law. In 2014, Michiel completed the Grotius specialisation course in Insolvency Law (cum laude). In 2017, he completed the Insolad/EUR specialisation course in Financial Economics for Insolvency Attorneys.
Michiel is a member of Insolad, the Dutch Professional Association for Insolvency Attorneys. He is also a member of Young Management and Lions Club Ambt Born.
