Rankie ten Hoopen
Rankie is a member of the Healthcare team and the Privacy team and also works at the Legal Faculty of Maastricht University as a university lecturer in Health Law.
Rankie ten Hoopen is a member of the Healthcare team and the Privacy team and also works at the Legal Faculty of Maastricht University as a university lecturer in Health Law. In 2001, she obtained her doctorate at Maastricht University with a thesis on the liability for damage to health caused by drugs, in particular the liability of the pharmacist. She also conducts legal and scientific research in this area and supervises PhD research. In her position at the university, she also participates in (multidisciplinary) projects and research commissioned by external parties.
In addition to her work at Boels Zanders and the university, Rankie is a member of the Medical Ethics Review Committees and the Medical Ethics Committee at Maastricht UMC+ and she teaches medical specialists in training (Maastricht MUMC+; Universitaire Opleiding Psychiatrie Zuid). She is also a member of the Health Law Association.
Rankie advises and supports Boels Zanders mainly in matters relating to healthcare, such as: governance and employee participation, contracts relating to medical treatment, care and services, healthcare insurance, etc., client rights, legal position of medical specialists, legal positions at the intersection of employment and healthcare law (e.g. responsibilities of company and insurance doctors), privacy, quality of care (including matters relating to the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) and the Dutch Individual Health Care Professions Act (Wet big), disciplinary law and liability.
