Andries Houtakkers takes leave of the legal profession after inauguration as executive councillor in the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen

On 19 February 2020, Andries Houtakkers (aged 64) will be inaugurated as executive councillor in the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen. In connection with this position, Andries will step down on the 19th as managing partner of Boels Zanders and take his leave of the legal profession.

Andries has been working as a lawyer since 1984 and has been a partner at Boels Zanders since 1999. He studied at Radboud University and specialised in labour law during his career as a lawyer. He advised many companies and non-profit organisations regarding general employment law, including individual and collective dismissal law, employee participation law and collective agreement law.

With more than 35 years of legal and managerial experience and a high degree of social involvement, becoming an executive councillor is a challenging new chapter in Andries’ career.
